Cooly Rocks On is a celebration of all things Rock N Roll and the car culture of the era.Been going now for over 20 years and previously called Wintersun. We normally go down for the 5 days but my wife had an accident and damaged her ankle and had 5 weeks in the wheelchair and now has 3 weeks in the moon boot.Didn't feel she would have a good time cooped up in the hotel. Anyway I went down for the day Saturday and was invited to take one of the Aussie Rock N Roll legends in my car in the Parade.I had Issy Dye and also there was the Atlantics,Normie Rowe,Tony Worsley,Johnny O'Keefes daughter and a lot of others who made the Aussie Rock N roll scene in the day. Now there are well over 1000 cars but many are classics, street machines and some street rods as well as the ones I shot that should be HAMB friendly.A lot of changes this year with participants having to pre book their spaces in the street and given an allocated spot.At least it stops the mad 4 am scramble each Saturday and Sunday. Hope you enjoy.
Was a great time again down there, pity about the rain on saturday. The quality of some of the cars was very high, thanks for the picks saves me loading up mine
Last lot.Since this is all related to the surfing scene at Kirra and Coolangatta I included a couple of Kombis from the surf era. I just got a call to say the roadster won an award from Charley Hutton(Painter) and unfortunately I wasn't there to collect it. Very happy with that!!!(Getting the award that is)
