Great job! This is so very similar to the 49 F1 build we are doing. Great bodywork and lines.

You got f2+ front fenders on there, cool. They are up very high, cool again.

I like the bottom 3-4" missing off the bottoms of the front fenders at the cab, I did the same as well and took off the running boards.

The door stainless will be neat.

I hope you do a dull laquer like paint job

Hey thanks jfrolka! yeah the front fenders are f2 .I'm probably going to leave the top of the wheelarch alone and bring the front of the arch back to match the wheel more like an f1,then I'll decide whether I need to do the rear of the arch.
When I repair the bottom of the fender ,I'll probably make allowance for a running board of some sort. A friend made a suggestion on that which I quite like.
I'm hoping to run the moulding from the door onto the hood, picking up the remaining accent line..hence I've lifted the front of the hood back up a bit.

At this stage its ALL about the lines.

I am planning on running boards for mine as well.
It will be interesting to watch what you do with the front fenders. Those are some big assed wheel openings.

I have the opportunity to buy these Commander 4-ply white walls. Great size for on the rear but poss a bit big for the front tho.. hmmm

thanks David, they came out ok..I wouldn't put them in a concourse though .

The doors have been a fair bit of work .Not sure I'd do it quite this way again.Having said that...the end result with new skins on is going to be waaaay better overall than using the truck doors with the steel inner and no garnish moulding.

 

Nice work fleet-master! I've done same with the chassis and a 3" chop to my 51 F1 this is inspirational! If I hadda known......I have a pair of doors leftover.

Hey Paul, how the hell I missed this thread I don't know, I would've kept my '46 Chev if I'd known I could get the doors to fit a ford pick up (even though it was too cherry to cut up). I always thought the Holden chassis looked too wide for these, but of course, cut it till it fits! Any progress lately ?

Hi Scotty , I've ben getting bits n pieces done mainly on the roof structure/side drip rails. I thought about shaving the drip rails but I think it'll look better with them left on.
I've got a 37 Ford coupe, an HQ Monaro,a 1930 Essex here for clients along with some reassembly on a 58 Chev so my hands are a tad full .

bit of an update on my lorry...been picking away at it as I get time lately. Managed to get the main new section of R/H driprail fitted and a new section of roof skin tacked in place ready for welding (hopefully tomorrow). Looks like I've got the parts I need for the clutch organised now too so thats good.
