By the way, the track record at Precott now stands at 36 seconds or something ridiculous. The track official giving us our briefing actually said, and I quote. "Don't worry lads, you'll not set any track records today......." L.P.
All I know about the single seater is that the the two brothers who now own the car bought it about 6 months ago from someone in Florida and shipped it to the UK. It was it's first real outing and was suffering most of saturday with a misfire. Kept the lads busy with their heads under the hood for the best part of the morning. Cracking looking race
John I don't think Tim is holding on for dear life I believe he is actually trying to exit the car. If the Dodge is there next year you'll have to take me for a spin in it (please!!), everyone says how nuts it was.
That's one aspect of the meet that was really good fun - an almost open house attitude to giving people rides and being able to jump in with someone else whenever a passenger seat was available. I rode in the Dodge - it was a very memorable experience. If there was a "I rode in the Dodge at GOW!" T-Shirt, I'd buy one! Mart.
My old hopped up 47 Plymouth creaked, groaned and squealed almost as much as I did on the way up the hill. What great fun!
Got to say thanks to you Phil for giving me a hell of a ride up the hill and also to all the others that did so a well, Glen, John, and several others. It was a great weekend!. Got to have my T done for next year. David
Jus t wanted to add my thanks to Neil and everyone else for making it such a great event - I hope you can do it again!. I spent a very enjoyable day sketching, taking photos and talking the toot with all the friendly people who came to look over my shoulder. Someone's already posted a link but I thought I'd pick out a few favourites of mine...
