Nice work, but it sure sounds familiar:

    http://www.streetrodderweb.com/tech/0601sr_1932_ford_grille_shell/

    Especially the identical sentences:

"Brookville Roadster makes an excellent reproduction '32 shell in steel...."
    and
"Although this is a fairly advanced project......"

I guess plagarism is the sincerest form of flattery.

It's a 1930 Plymouth model 30U. I believe they only made the oval window for this one year.

wow!, its not plagerism if his names Ron covell
    Tuna foot are really Ron?

"tightly radiused lip that surrounds the grille, and this detail would be very difficult to form freehand."

    LOL, word for word

  11. How Thick was the aluminum that you used for this project? I am really interested in playing around with this. Thinking about testing my skills, I built my grill using aluminum sheet metal but I think what I used would be to thick for this type of project. Thanks

  12. Yikes clearly most of the text has been lifted straight from that article.

    Nice work but.....

I wish I was Ron Covell, I did take one of his workshops. He's a great guy. Showed me how to metal finish.... And yes Ron's article was the recipe I followed to get a similar result.

3003 Aluminum that was .063 thick. After annealing it becomes really easy to shape.

Going to have to agree with this. It's almost word for word with the Street Rodder article.

I don't have a beef with you and it looks like you actually executed the work yourself. Craftsmanship speaks for itself. But failing to give credit to Ron Covell is palgarizing when you copied his work and represent it as your own. And thats a different matter when there are significant rewards at stake. I'm sure you won't have any problem rationalizing your behavior. But don't get pissy because you got caught.

My tech wasn't about trying to cheat anyone else out of their significant rewards. I already have a set of Matt's headers and not sure what I would do with tin from EMS. (although I'm sure I could have found something shiny at SoCal & Bailiegh's)

There's no way there was even 10 percent content taken from the street rodder's article. I now understand that even 1 percent was too much to leave in. I just wanted to show off a project that I'm very proud of and spent a significant amount time creating. Apologies to anyone who feels was cheated because I looking for a pat on the back.
