I am sending out my 216 Chevy 6 cam for regrinding. There is not enough "meat" for the old dual pattern McGurk and Isky grinds. The cam is steel, and new cores are not available.

Does anyone know the specs of the Howard M4F? How about other Howard grinds? The engine is heavily modified, and I'd like as much cam as possible.

    Thanks

Oregon Cam Grinding has a a bunch of grinds available. So does Delta . They often have cores in stock. The M4F is a moderate grind, about 206 degrees duration at .050 lift and total lift is around .425

Intake opens 12 BTDC closes 46 ABDC
Ex opens 46 BBDC closes 12 ATDC
    24 TDC overlap
    Lobe center 107
Valve lift Intake .418 duration 238
Valve lift Ex .418 duration 238

Checking clearances at. .050 at cam:
Intake lift .279 duration 206 opens -4 TDC closes 30 ABDC
Ex lift .279 duration 206 opens 30 BBDC closes -4 TDC

Installed springs closed @ 95 lbs

This is right off the cam card for my M4F

    Thanks a hundred, Guys!
Sounds like plenty of cam for the little 216.
(Some extra exhaust duration might be nice.)
