I think I've seen pictures of it before....but never anywhere in Texas. Never seen it in person untill yesterday...it had Colorodo Goodguys sticker on it but was running Texas plates. Anyone?
It was at the Pileup last year... If he's Texan, he might have driven up with Flt-Blk... but I didn't think they arrived together...
That car was on the cover of HotRod awhile back. It had '40 Deluxe caps instead of the moons. I saw it at a show in Garland a couple of weeks ago. It had California tags on it then. Nice car.

I've seen that car in Piegon Forge ,Tenn. a few times,,,,I think it belonged to one of the greazy's,,,,,,,,but,not sure it was to PURDY,,,, They do make exceptions,,,there is one billet bitch in the club!
I don't care what you guys think....I like it. It's just like all the other cool hot rods!....bare metal body, suicide front end, fake quick change, and no concern about the scrub line!
Here is yet another pic of the '40 coupe. This is at a show off of Spring Valley and 75 at Skoots. Great place for a burger and ther scenery aint that bad either.

The motor is nice, granted, but everyone in the world knows what a small block looks like. I hate car shows because of this. if you want to show off the motor then just take the hood off, if you want people to see the car, then leave all the panels CLOSED.
That's the way we used to build 'em back before the days of crate engines and mag wheels. We used to say "Tuff'! Enjoyed the trip down memory lane!
It's also in the April 2000 issue of American Rodder. It has 48' caps and trim rings in the magazine, which I think I like more. It's a bitchin 40, dual quad sbc and 4 speed sounds like a good time to me.
While I'm not a big proponent of chopping '40 Coupes, that car is so bitchin' sweet it's got me totally re-thinking everything I ever thought about chopped '40 Ford Coupes.
Never cared for chopped '40's. This one seems to have pulled it off but I'd like it a whole lot better if I saw it in line at Bonneville waiting to make a run. Frank
Sheesh, some searching on google brought me here. This was my families hot rod along with a '66 Nova. We bought it from the guy who had it after Bailey owned it. We lived in Richardson and were hitting shows almost every weekend. Good times...
