'47 Hudson engine swap

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by patrick66, Aug 18, 2011.

  1. My '47 Hudson still has the original 212 splasher Six in it. I'm looking to put a V8 in it (NOT a SBC!). I'm looking for pics of any engines in a '42 or a '46-'47 Hudson, including 232/262/308 Hudson Six, big block or old-style Hemi Mopar, or a B-O-P or Cadillac engine, and would like to see Ford engines, too.

    Right now, I have a '69 440 Mopar, a 260 Olds, and have possibilities on a 500 Cadillac engine, a 389 Pontiac, and a 360 Mopar.

    So, whatcha got???

I am placing a 331 dual quad edmunds/header into my 42. I should be starting on it soon. Although I have been saying that for a bit now. Shop got busy so it sits to the side... mocking my every move

Hornets are a good fit in almost any Hudson-nearly bolti in. The 308 is longer than the 212 but those cars were all built to accomodate a straight 8. A Jet isn't much different in exterior size than a 212 but it ain't much better either.
