Aftermarket imitation of a Packard ornament. Google it. The angle of head is unlike Packard ornaments plus a casting seam is visible, typical of aftermarket

  3. Cheap aftermarket item from someplace like J.C. Whitney.

Well I was thinking that to... but, I have never seen one with a base. Packard had the goose head arched under and back (kinda weird). I can find reproductions of it now, but without the base. I was wondering if it was some off the wall model or as you mentioned aftermarket.

It's not A goose, its a Cormorant. Or, it should be if it was a Packard hood ornament. It's definitely an aftermarket one.

They first called it a pelican, then cormorant, then back to pelican

Cool - so many hood ornaments get removed to look cool, or too pitted to run. repop or original put it to good use.

Do you think the hood bar that the ornament is sitting on is aftermarket as well?
