When exactly, did the change come where we worked for the Government instead of the other way around?.....what happened to " of the people, by the people and for the people."..??...

Signed. When will it finally just collapse so that we can start over fresh? All of the problems in the world stem from government in some way, they are the cancer that must be removed.

  6. Signed! I hope our government does not adopt such ideas.... Here they "only" plan to rise the fines for minor traffic offences from 36,- € to 210,- €.

Signed, but I think it only needs to be amended to keep people from "cheating" the system with the 25 year old shitbox daily drivers, There has to be a happy medium. here in the states it pisses me off to see people daily driving cars on antique "limited Use" plates. THEY are the ones that will screw it up for the rest of us.

A big thanks to everyone who supported us by signing the petition.

I'm happy to report we can breath a bit more easily. The proposed change in tax-law to fully road tax classic cars has been withdrawn. Changes will be made, presumably lifting the cut-off age from 25 to 30 (or 35 for diesel engined cars). We'll have to wait for more news. I'll keep you updated.

    Cheers,
    Reijer

  28. GOOD NEWS: goverment have voted and decided that 25 years and older vehicles are and will be taxfree in the Netherlands (okay for what the words of our goverment are worth)
Like said before it will go up to 30 years and older (2011 decission) but who wants a 30 years old car if you have a garage full of 30's Fords ;)

    ´UPDATE:

After months of back and forth between politicians and classic car lobbyists, it is now decided that classic cars 40 years old and older are now exempt from road-taxes. I'm happy that middle ground was found. It's quite a jump from 25 but I do admit that cars from 1988 can hardly be considered 'classic'.

    A bit more info:
    - owners of petrol cars between 26 and 39 years old have to pay an anuual 120 euro in road tax.
    - owners of diesel and LPG cars between 26 and 39 years old have to pay the Full Monty......
