54 merc tailites are for sure not "done to death" on shoeboxes !!! On 51 merc , i would say they were done to death, and may be even more, but on shoebox, the sad thing is that's it's the stock tailite that is done to death !! :(

Nice Job , anyway ! chop is fuckin sexy , and tailites are looking good . You should have used inverted 55 lincoln tailites for the same effect :D

Thanks Zed! I would have liked to use '55 lincoln taillights, but I'll save that Idea for when I get a '52-'54 Ford/ Mercury hardtop. I'll post pics of progress tomorrow evening again...

Where are my manners? I have made progress, but I won't have pics up for a while. My real job has interfered with playtime...

Well, it's been motorcycle madness time at the body shop I work at, Beck's Customs. We just finished up a restoration on a 1935 Harley Davidson VL for my friend Tom, and We've been cranking out a full paint job or two a week. Everyone wants to ride now that the snow is gone...

The shoebox has been sitting patiently. I am going to pick up a Mercury grille surround for it this weekend, but besides that I haven't gotten much done on it. Here are a few pictures of the progress I have made since last time, and a couple pictures of the bikes we've been working on for those who may be interested.

I will be cutting out the area for the lens of course, and I've still got the whole other side to do. I got 10 lbs. of lead so I can lead in the seam on the rear gravel pan, and maybe some other stuff too...

For now I'm concentrating on my '40 sedan. One of the fellow Suedes members is getting married, and I'd like to have it at his wedding in about a month. More on that later...

If it makes you feel any better my goal for the winter was to finish the garage, lower the shoebox and give it a tune up. So far the garage is half finished and I broke the drivers window on the car! So much for progress!

Thanks Tedley! I might have some time this week to work on it... I'm ready to thrash!

That does make me feel better! I'll have to come check it out soon!

Thanks! I've decided to sell my 322 nailhead stuff and get the sheetmetal/bodywork done on this thing... it's about time!

Thanks! No leftover grille stuff unfortunately.

She's not lonely, just needs attention!

Me neither. I can get by on 6 or a couple days but usually I have to make up for it with a 3 or 4 hour nap.

:)The first thing to do is take a 0ne-A-Day Vitamin. There is more to it but I'm not a going into it. You have to do what is best for you but there are ways around the pit falls. The main thing is enjoy every thing life has to offer = have fun. I've never been bored. I'm 75.:D
