My first attempt at uphostery

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 32dooscoop, Dec 29, 2012.

  1. The red sparkly material you used. Is that pre-pleated or did you do it? IT"s hard see if there are seams in the pictures. Nice job by the way. I am going to try this myself when I get to that hurdle.

Very nice workmanship! Shows that upholstery can be done at home with some practice and a good machine! Used commercial sewing machines aren't all that spendy compared to the prices of having someone do the interior for you!

The red sparkly stuff is Zodiac vynal. I put the pleats in it, the seams are hidden
by using the back stich to make the tuck n roll.
There is plenty of excellent advice on the upholstery group on here to help you do it.
Have a go its all doable, if I can, anyone can.
like I said this is my first attempt and my first go with a sewing machine

  4. That "diner vinyl" is some cool shit, isn't it?

Time for a long overdue update.
Due to lack of cash and time its took a while to get stuck into the seat
I finally managed to get the foam and got stuck in over the past couple of weekends and finally got the seat done.

its not perfect, i have a few seams that dont quite line up but im pleased with it for my first attempt. looking forward to getting it out on the road now that the crap weather has finally gone.
