You're tellin' me old boy... I'm in thrash mode now. Hard to stay focused at work all day when I have to walk past this thing 83 times....

I swear work is getting done! I'd post pics, but at this point everything looks worse than when we started. All new brake lines, wiring, suspension has been sorted out, and we're super close to having the body mounted. Still need to get the Ford trans out and swapped for the LaSalle, but we should be ready to drive this thing around pretty soon.

  5. Looks great, love that old Olds engine in there!
If you wanna get rid of those Edmunds valve covers let me know

    Absolutely un-effing-believable!! What
an incredible find! That thing looks
like it was pulled out of a time capsule
that's been buried since about 1963!
(I'm waiting with baited breath for
    some self-appointed 'Nabob of Negativity'
    or 'Potentate of Presumptuousness" here
to claim that some tiny detail - anything -
    on this car isn't "traditional"!LOL!:D)
About that Olds engine - any idea about
what year or size it is yet and/or what
kind of mods have been done to it? Is
the 3-2bbl intake an aftermarket piece
or maybe, a factory J2 intake? (Maybe
    the whole engine is a '57 371 J2 even?)
Whatever it is, everything about this
car is COOL and your plans for a
    LaSalle trans are perfect!! (You
need to find a vintage 'Fenton' or
    'Spark-O-Matic' brand shifter for it!!:D )

I know what you meant....but when
    you said "Rocket-powered Model A",
a vision of 'Wile E. Coyote' suddenly
    came to mind!:eek::D:D

    uses, abuses and endorses
    the full, dangerous, dubious
    and highly improbable and
    impractical line of ACME

The car was stashed since 1974... its about as traditional as you can get. I haven't even found a phillips screw anywhere on it yet. The motor is an early one, '49 or '50, with the '56 #10 heads and J2 intake. We haven't opened the motor up yet, but when we pulled the plugs, we found flat-top pistons stamped STD. Who knows... Its loud, looks bitchin, and will be lots of fun.

I wish... I'm waiting on some unobtainium parts to come in so we can finialize the body fitment. On that note, if anyone has some '31 68C Slant window door strikers and female dovetails that ship faster then a week, I'd love to know.

Dave's valve covers are awesome.. I still can't believe that this hot rod was sitting, hidden out of plain view for almost 40 years and you scored it. So cool..
