Thanks guys for the encouragement, I hopefully/finally in the "Groove" to tackle this part of the build. The bike is my son's Shovelhead......it's about to get antiqued with Bondo dust! :D

I'm guessing that had a bit of cringe factor built in when it let go!lol Years ago a buddy of mine ran an old slingshot dragster and he straddled the rear end when sitting in it. He said his biggest worry was that big block Chevy shredding the rear end at speed with him not being able to go anywhere.:D Yeah I can see where that would be a concern!

Billetproof is (was last year) the end of August @ Riverdale Raceway. Great Time!
Thanks Chris, and the chute makes it look like a race car!

Hahahaha, I have a WAR case and will purchase an aftermarket Pinion support for it and all will be well again.

Thanks Guys, been my vision from day 1. Yep the rearend would worry a smarter man :D Seriously though I sit along side the rear end with the Ring Gear between me and the Pinion, I didn't know what had happened until I felt (Gear) oil on the steering wheel.

Fantastic thread, Just finished reading the whole thing. The tire smoking vid took me back to the good old days at Fremont Drag Strip in the sixties and beyond. When they closed it I picked up a piece of asphalt and have it in a glass case as a shrine to simpler days. Question: are t-shirts still available? Would love to have one or two.

Thank You pregrid, living the "old days" has been my goal. Although I wasn't there I have had the fortune, been blessed with many friends and told we are living the "Good Old Days" @ Eagle Field, hopefully you can come over the hill and join us. I have a XL, some XXL and XXL shirts left, PM me if any of these sizes work. If you need other sizes I may have my friends @ the Shirt Shak print some and have them available May 18th @ Eagle Field. Rocky

I still have a lot to learn but it will get done:D Here is a photo with the sides done using Tim's method of forming sheet metal (heavily Waxed) and glassing it. Have to shelve the body for now and will get back on it after Eagle Field!
The TWIN will be on Display Boling Brothers Early Iron (Tulare CA.) Open House this Saturday. Under the watchful eye of "Uncle Kleet" drop by and check it out!

I vote no on the wheel tubs, let the tire smoke come out between the body, and the roll cage
