Went to Lansing, MI yesterday to look at a couple Model As and a huge amount of parts. They belonged to a man who inherited it all from his deceased father. Both the roadster and a 29 sedan had been in the barn over 25 years along with an old semi-trailer stash of original used parts that had been in there even longer. Most of the parts are rusty and not great in my book...as in original engines, trans, clutches, rear ends, old fenders, etc. The deal was buy it all or buy none of it, so I bought it all. Brought home the roadster and am going back soon for the sedan. Not sure how to deal with all the gazillion rusty parts yet. I unloaded the back of my truck this morning...just a small bit compared to what is left.
WOW. What a find! Even without seeing the "rusty parts" I am sure you should have no trouble getting rid of them. One man's trash is another's treasure.
I tried to load pictures of the "rusty crap" just because it is unbelievable! But I took the pictures with my I-phone and they are too big to load on the HAMB. I will have to figure out how to re-size them. I want you guys to see this stash!
How did you find this stuff? Family friend or something? Wish I would have known as I am looking for a roadster.
Nice score! Congrats! I'm sure you won't have any problem selling the sedan & all the "rusty" extra parts on here.
Looks like that stuff is infested with the dreaded iron termite ferric oxide fungus! I'd be happy to safely dispose of it for you....
I would say, if your not the type who likes dealing in parts, it's time for an auction. Keep what you need and have the auction. A very great find, the two cars are in such great shape. You should be able to sell enough parts to cover most of what you spend. Good Luck... CRUISER
Definitely qualifies as a "shitload" of stuff............. You can advertise it on the Ford Barn and other Ford forums as well as on here.
I live pretty close to there and was wondering if this was a private party deal? Just curious. I didn't see anything advertised that's for sure. Scott
Oh my! I thought I was doing good. You sir struck paydirt. I really wish I was closer, I see alot of parts there I need. Quite a few things there bringing in pretty decent coin. Model A headlight bars right now on ebay average price is $100-$150, I've been looking for one. Model A doors, not sure but I know they arent cheap I also see some hoods there, I need one early A and one late A. Maybe we can make a deal?
Sort thru and make a pile of the stuff you don't want, post it all on the restoration websites. All for trade. The restorers all have "parts cars" that hod rodders would consider great projects. They won't let loose of them, dangle an engine / trans they need for their resto. If you just traded for body parts for engines you could come out very well.
