Hot Rods F1 Box in AV 8 question

After setting the steering column the box splined shaft and steering arm are off about 30%. What the hell? It's like when in the neutral steering position, the steering arm is to far aft.

you have to use a small triangle shaped file to cut new splines in the pitman arm. also, if you want a shorter pitman arm, a '35-'36 arm will fit.

 

Prob a lot of slop.
