Hello, I dare finally open a new thread, like my friends Mika 112 and the speed belgian team First, I apologize for my bad english. I'm Jack, cook ,I live in Normandy ( WWII débarquement aréa ) France. I start a new project, one model A roadster lakester style, after having finished recently one coupe 39 . I have the hotrodding in my blood, I don't know why, because it is not cultural in my country. Even forbidden to drive a modified car... But this passion are more strong. I hope, one day, come in your's country and put my foot in salt at Bonneville and see many meeting, drag race, nascar... and especially to meet many passionates. Parts in stock for start, not many ... One good pair of ASC rail Pinch Constrution of a small press to stamp holes
looks like a great start , good luck with your project i know you guys over there can have it tough with custom built and modified cars , over here we sorta take it for granted sometimes but somehow you guys seem to get all the good parts , stuff that is hard to find even here
Very nice so far. Keep the pics coming! If you visit the US and drive your car here everyday you may not want to return to France 36-3 window is right. Sometimes we do take things for granted..
Very nice work Jack, I hope you make the trip to the U.S.A. Please post more pics and welcome to the H.A.M.B. Rich......
@ 36-3 W: There is still a lot french flathead (800/900$ each) but no early Ford. @ Willys1: you are certainly right @ Model A Marck and Brody 1929: Thank
UK, Sweden, Norway and Finland is problaby the only countries in europe where we are aloved to build and drive our own cars. But at least here in Sweden we are bound to stupid european standard thats make it impossible to do a car in right style and legal. Most rodders have a safteyinspection kit to mount on the car. And after the inspection they remove it and hope the cop dont look to close on the car.
Frenchjack, you are doing well, please keep us posted with your progress. Can you post a picture of the black truck that is in your avatar ? That looks interesting. All the best, Dale Cleveland OH
Wow! I like your project and it seems you have great skills; Im looking forwards for updates. What kind of engine is it from the donator? Is it one of the French flatheads?
@Anders F: with the traditional look is more easier with the cop. In 1992 with my first rod (34 5W high tech) two years to build and I drove three days before the cop keep my title. thanks to an English friend, I drove with a GB title after .... @Flatred 53: Yes, it is the french-flat in militaty light truck @ Zjerry: thank
Thank you for the pictures of your Peugeot. That is a good looking rig. I can picture all kinds of fun to have with that !. All the best, Dale Cleveland Oh
May be in 2015, if this rod is finished in time, he will serve to push-car for the Belgian Belly tank... at Bonneville, A great adventure and a dream for me. Looks great. Best of luck. I curious on the trans. Looks like a Ford side shift with top shift conversion. Did you make the conversion and curious why you went that route vs. a top shift case.
I'm guessing... over here and probably the same in France side shift are easier to find and are subsequently a lot cheaper than top shifts. As I say just guessing.
Super project, interesting to see one of those French flatheads actually being removed from a French vehicle to be transplanted.
