Man, that was a good time. I had not seen those pics, Vince. The good news is there have to be at least twice as many Willys on the road and strip now than back then in '94. Thanks again to EVERYBODY who came!

Anyone have any more info on this Willys pickup Dave posted? I think it was owned by Gary Lewis.

  5. We are looking for a set of front windshield inner garnish mouldings (top and bottom pieces and clips if you have them) to fit a 41 coupe. They don't have to be perfect just usable or fixable. Let us know what ya have. Thanks Chad

I will repeat this for those who believe otherwise - the 1941 coupe windshield is approximately 1" shorter from top to bottom than 1937-40. This is because the windshield wipers were relocated to the cowl for 1941 (and 1942). And yes - I have physically measured both, so make sure your body is a real 1941 - the additional reveal around the windshield will also denote a 1941/42. If you cannot find them Lee Kay will make you garnish moldings - www.kayskustommetalworks.com

  7. Thanks Weasel,
We are interested in either the long or short set if either will fit inside the opening. They are for the Grist Bros. Shiftmaster Special and the car we are needing them for has been chopped.

Rear window very similar to a green central Cal car from later years called The Wizard. Any connection? OR, what happened to Butler's car?

    Willysrule,
The last time I saw that truck was 1979 @ the Fall Natioanls @ Seattle. The chute came out on the one - two shift. So he dnq'd. Every time it came to the line to make a pass @ Woodburn the stands would fill up! The last time I saw a picture of it was October '79 in an Auto Trader. I think they were asking $8,000 for it as a roller. It was a handful to get down the track. Gary Lewis drove and I think he had a partner with the last name of Shrewsberry , it was a long time ago.

A sneak peak at the Mystery Willys just unloaded from the body shop. There will be updates on the "Beside the barn willys find" thread tonight. It came out really nice.
