    Ah, yes...the lovely '49 to '51 Nash
    'Airflyte' - the ultimate in early-50's
    space-ship styling and Nerdmobile
    'par excellance'! To my mind,
    something about the alleged 'styling'
    :)eek::eek:) of the early-50's 'bathtub'
    Nashes has always, absolutely
    screamed "carnival-ride bumper
    car
    "! All that's missing - (and maybe
    should have been an optional factory,
    or at least a J.C. Whitney available
    accessory':eek: ) - is a pole on the back
    to conduct electricity from the ceiling!!!:D

  12. I was around eight yrs old when these were in their hay-day. I thought they were a joke. I would have died if my family had one. I still think they look stupid. I guess I had a pretty finely honed perception of auto styling for a kid those days. My brother's black 1950 Pontiac convertible, now that was what a car should look like.

    I never could figure out the attraction for those things either. They were ugly then and they still are.
    It seems like they used them a lot for cop cars in the early 50s black and white movies for some reason.
