Two Tone Powder Coat? Is it Possible?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by billandlori, Mar 15, 2013.

  1. I was thinking about machining an emblem for my O/T Western Star semi. Is it possible to powder coat in two colors? Being on the grill it will get a lot of road rash and I thought the powder coat would stand up better than paint.

I had it done years ago, by taping of the area not being coated and then taping of the 1st coated area and having the 2nd coat done.

It was OK but I never bothered to do anymore like that.

It's completely possible. I once did a seven stage job and do two color jobs routinely. You just need a coater who wants to do it. Most guys would rather do quick easy jobs.
