anyone put a S-10 frame under a 1940-47 dodge coe? This is for a dodge coe cab with a 8 foot truck bed, weight about 3000. If so pro"s and con"s, year of frame and wheel base ? thanks, any help appreciated. 810-643-4553

Warning!!! Stay away from the S10 frame swap. There are much better options out there. Do you still have the original frame?

There are FAR better choices for this project than an S-10 chassis.

Just to name a two reasons why....the main one being it is too light weight and it has too narrow a tread width.

COE's, by there very nature, have a significantly greater forward weight bias than a conventional cab arrangement. You probably should consider at least a full size 1/2 ton chassis as a minimum and a 3/4 ton wouldn't be overkill.

I seriously doubt you can keep the weight "about 3000"......

Stay away from the S10 frame and like what was stated, at the very least use a 1/2 ton frame. I am using a 3/4 ton frame GMC extended cab long bed frame on mine and putting 1 ton suspension on it. Dually rear end and 1 ton front end.... Good luck with your build.......

I'm using an 80 Chevy 1/2 ton chassis under my 40 Dodge, mid engine so the body is low and not give up any floor space.

Why not update the original chassis? (and please don't ask about Mustang II systems. They weighed 2400 lbs and had bushings sized for the load)
