The best part of this build is ArtGeko most likely doesn't give 2 shits about anyones opinions, and most likely isn't going to stop the build over rude comments from internet hot rod builders. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
I dont agree that this would be a typical Rat Rod build. The guy is english wheeling panels, setting the car up with a flatty, and the front axle is in the same zipcode as the rest of the car. I think he is making an efford to build something nice. ( although the car does seem to need some improvements in the Suspension area ) Not everybody has to agree and think its nice too, but its not cool to mess up a buildthread with Drama. If this Thread would go too much into the Rat Rod side of it, or if the car would get big inch wheels with rubberband tires or something like that, we can always Close or Delete this Thread. Like we've done with others. For now, I hope we can give him the benifit of the doubt... For the Users that feel this Thread ( or any other Thread for that matter ) doesnt belong on the HAMB, please use the Report Button.
I guess I am not getting it, I looked quick and saw some suspension problems that needed to be adressed, but other then that it is just a lakes modified right? Is there something wrong or untraditional about a lakes modified that I am not aware of? Other then needing a little guidence on suspension geometry I think that the little bucket is pretty much on track. I may have left the doors drooped if it were me but that is a personal thing and and nothing that makes or breaks the car. Oh and alex is correct, maybe a little gentle ribbing is somethimes in order but the report button is your friend if you think that something is entirely out of line.
Come on Alex, surely you are slipping? This guy needs help and basic common sense input. This thread DOES belong here if only to help the Gecko to build a safe car with STANCE. As it sits this thing is a pile and deadly. I liked saving the original body and starting over but it went off the tracks after it left the station.
Allright, I admit. I missed some suspension stuff. The type of rear bones he used are wrong and not up to the job. Thats a bigger problem than the angles or even the rideheight. But he is going to have to sort out the rideheight anyway, if it sits like that without any weight in it. Maybe I should go back again and look a little closer... Edit. Shit, there is a lot of suspension stuff I missed. Sorry guys...
You folks need to reread the builders comments. Most all your complaints are about the suspension which he says, is mockup. That's my take anyway. Build ON! GO GO GO ! Bill aka Tnomoldw
