First thing Monday morning, the 40 pickup battery dead, the Ute needed gas and the 59 panel needed power steering fluid,, had to take the panel,,, lifes a b****,, but isn't it grand!
It sounds soo much worse when she put it that way. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
With the vent window open? Can't be all bad, here you can't even see the light at the end of the tunnel because of all the snow in the way!. Come on spring!!
Ha, Man I've had that same convo with my gf.. Getting all down on myself because some relatively minor stuff is going on with my chevy or something. When the whole fleet is running and driving well we feel like kings, but at least around my fleet, when little things happen they happen to every damn car I own all at the same time. Takes the wind out of the sails really quickly. These ladies that love us have a way of putting us in check with a few words that mean volumes.
This! No matter how bad stuff gets, but when that old car is running right. You can't help but think back on it and how you got through and smile. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
It's all been said already ... but my personal advice is "Get over it!" Marcie's right ... you have not yet earned a whine.
Boo hoo hoo ........ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...g&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=kmcuUd8Hg870BNL6gfgB#imgrc=_
Your timing is impeccable! I was, just last night, pitching the idea to my wife that I would ditch the late model for a 1970 Suburban. She was not enthused... I think I'm gonna do it!
How do you have a highway patrolman clock you at 170 and not be behind bars?! Orrrr were you? And yeah, women can put things into perspective with a quickness when it comes to FUN things.
Hey Ryan, I feel your pain man. My wife has an iphone app with a tiny violin for just such occasions at our house....... when I complain, I get that or "put on your big-boy pants and get over it".......no sympathy around here either. Women just don't understand how hard it can be on a guy to own several old cars and only be able to drive one of them....
So did you find out why the belts got thrown or just replace them? I never had anything that thew belts except for a OT camaro that would throw the alternator belt over 6500 RPM.
It's a long sordid tale and I'll spare myself the humiliation of handing over the details. But, it happened... Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
I really feel bad that things didn't go well for you. Now that i've got that lie out of the way. Life is really tough, isn't it? I can't even back the 54 out of the driveway because of the snow. Things will get better. Later, Dick
the "old car thing" ... worth it! now these are some people with real problems: http://youtu.be/vN2WzQzxuoA
I'm sure that we have all heard this a time or two... "rub some dirt on it, and get back in the game!"
I dont know... I can handle working on a racecar for weeks, trailering it to the track several hours away, hoping for a fun filled weekend of racing and having a driveshaft snap on the start of the first practice lap ( well, I can sort of handle it )... I've had my Hot Rod act up in strange and interesting ways. But when the daily driver breaks down I'm pissed. And it doesnt even matter if the daily is an old car or a latemodel. Its the one I need to get parts for the other ones...
Had to laugh at the wife putting you in your place, they have an incredible ability to pull the rug from under your feet just when you really deserve it.
Ryan, you have no idea how pleased I am that you brought up wind gusts. I honestly thought it was something I had done or not done to my T. When the wind gets up around 25MPH and over, I have to plan my trips according to wind direction! If it's blowing in front of or behind me, I'm good to go. But that cross wind is a struggle at best. I also try to go through areas with trees or buildings. Cuts the wind down some.
