Your car on the front of a magazine

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 30FordNerd, Feb 26, 2013.

  1. None of my junk would ever get a gig on a front cover, so I cheated and made my own-, however I do feel ashamed and I am remorseful. A bit like buying your own trophy. I wont do it again. -Mmmmmm:cool:

Mine was on the back cover of Traditional Rod and Kulture. Another piece of art by Spike Kilmer.

Our 15 minutes of fame, at least in the Hot Rod World. It will be hitting the news stands in the next couple of weeks.

One of my OT cars made it in several mags during a two year period. Just gotta be in the right place at the right time.

Although not HAMB friendly, I'll still toot my own horn because it may never happen again; my VW Notch on the cover of Nov '96 "Hot VWs"
and my Mustang on April '12 "Mustang Monthy" (top right-hand corner, but it still made the cover!!!)

I have been fortunate to have had cars featured in 4 different mags. And yeah, I spent the big bucks and had custom, plaques/wall hangers made from the magazine pages. It's a big deal for someone from the middle of no-where Kansas.

CONGRATs to anyone here ever featured in a magazine, let alone a cover. I remember how proud I was the first time I had a car in a mag. It was only the right front fender, but I knew it was my car because I knew where I parked at the show covered.

  12. A TRJ cover is worth more than just 15 minutes of fame. Might get you 45 minutes to an hour!!:) I was checking out your car at Pimlico, very nice. Where did they do the photo shoot?

My roadster made the back cover of Hot Rod in '09. There are a lot of benifits for letting a company use your car..............

Here is my '26 T on the cover of Auto Enthusiast Dec. 2012. The excellent cover story was our epic journey to Bonneville for Speed Week as covered by Tech Editor Andy Bolig (C5rider) who rode along with me. This came as the last installment of a 4 part series on the build-up of my car and the trip:

That TRJ cover is gorgeous....I would love to have my T in TRJ.....

Does a 24 pg newsletter count? Mine made the cover when I belonged to the Crown Victoria Association many moons ago.

the avatar truck. 2/12 hot rod.

  25. My 3 window in my avatar was on the cover of American Rodder Jan 1996. I think that was pretty cool but I'm old and little things excite me. In truth it was a rush. Something I will remember for the rest of my wonderful life.

  26. Mine seem to always be on the inside. I do have one cover from my OT 67 Super Sport
