Bought a set of steelies and painted them to match my car and mounted some wide whites as you can see. So I now have 2 sets of wheels and can switch in and out as desired. Im trying to decide if I like the new look. Wondering if I should have painted the rims red or maybe some other contrasting color. Maybe too much blue? Should I use trim rings? Do the wide whites work with my car? Let me know what you think and any creative ideas are always appreciated.
painting them black or red would be a big fat NO. i personnsly like the other wheels. rings might help and maybe paint them cream or some other color. try the photoshop thread. someone will help with different colors.
I like the steelies and whitewalls,,I also like red rims,,I like red rims before everybody started hating them. Some rubber on the running boards would help break up all the blue. Bumpers would help also. HRP
I like both sets. The steels with rings would be nice, or maybe some rim pin stripes. I think black would be good too....red is maybe a little overdone nowdays
Love the car. Great color! The blue on the rims is the right color with the WWWs. I like both sets of rims on it. The old ones look hot rod which I really like and the new ones look more old school custom and are also great. It will be nice having two sets so you can change the look fast. Bad ass looking car either way!!!!
i like it with the 5 spokes on it but it should be lifted up a bit with them on it i like the steel wheels with it sitting where it is FRIENDS DONT LET FRIENDS PAINT STEEL WHEELS RED
Just a thought .... If you do use trim rings , paint a red thick stripe between the trim rings and the wheel lip . should really pop !
Paint them a light blue and use rings and i personaly dont like babymoons looks like the eye on a cooked fish use a chevy cap and rubber on the running board if you want to use the white wall looks to modern with painted board and dont paint the wheel black
i like the steelies but think they would look better darker, maybe like the flames on the running boards.
If money is not really tight , why not go with both wheels and switch them out from time to time ? Years ago I had a 'vette with a set of rally's and a set of Western mags with "fake" knock offs . I really enjoyed switching wheels every 6 months or so for a new look . To make life easier I had both sets of wheels mounted on tires , and it was about a 1/2 hour job in the driveway to get the other look . T
The Steelies get my vote . I'd have gone a darker blue and run rings with Chevy Caps . Smart looking coupe either way . .
