Ok I guess I should have explained better. I'm looking for a way to clean it with it on the engine. i'm just trying to keep it new looking
This won't help you but.. I took the nastiest greasiest blackest intake ever to work with me. To a restaurant - and sprayed a little mr muscle on, let it sit a few mi utes and ran it through the pot washer. Summamabitch came out looking like almost new. You can get mr muscle at a cash and carry type restaurant supply store
black magic or blue coral all wheel cleaner works good . not as harsh as etching alum cleaner. i use it on bikes motors anything i don't want the polish etched. have sprayed it all over a full car will take wax off and silicone off and will not hurt the paint
I detail cars as a job, ive used the light wheel acid from the shop, i fill a 5 gallon bucket with reduced acid and let the intake set in it for about 15-20 minutes then pull it out and power wash it, they look brand new, (when you first take them out of the acid dip the aluminum will have a black tint to it, but it washes right off.
I don't have any tips for cleaning it, but once it is paint it. My motor guy paints all his intakes and heads. It keeps them looking new forever and nobody thinks they're painted.
A toothbrush and toilet bowl cleaner works great. Just don't let it sit on there long and rinse it off well. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
