Projects My 1948 Pontiac Build (A little bit custom and a whole lot faster)

looks like youre running disc brakes in front Fatman makes a drop/disc spindle for the kingpin setup? How much of a drop do those spindles get you?

 

The disc kit is from Scarebird and the dropped uprights are FatMan the spindles are stock. I think the drop is 2"

I have been spending all my time, effort and money on getting the drivetrain ready. I have Fulvi building me a radiator but I had to fix the outside strap first. It was a mess

Scored a great deal on a used TCI Streetfighter 700R4. Just needs some detailing




Here is the motor as of today. Manifolds were ceramic coated black and the alt/ac brackets were powder coated to match the intake and timing cover. I also made up my fuel lines and a bracket for the fuel block. You can see the 700R4 all nice and pretty now

I'm almost done with my four link, all that's left is some finish welding and a couple braces! Your motor is very nice! Hopefully I can have a motor that clean!

My wife is going to be induced on Friday a.m. so I figured I would get in one more night before the baby comes.

I reinstalled the engine so fit some more parts

 

Looks like its's coming along great , Iv'e always liked Pontiacs

Now you should really sell me that nailhead and find a nice tri power 389 for that Poncho. The torque of that nailhead will shred a T5, better to find an M22 rock crusher. Nothing better than a Ford 9" out back

I can just smell that moist mohair interior ;-)

Nice raw material..now few hundred hours in the shop and you will be rockin' the Silver Streak

Your making all the right moves in my book on the Pontiac, should be one fine cruiser. The nailhead is a work of art, take one of your good engine pictures and frame it. At trucking company's they usually have stacks of pallets, I took a double pallet and just added wheels for a frame or body dollie. The pallets are made out of strong oak and they workout great.

Ok I guess it is time for an update. A few other projects have come and gone and now the Pontiac is back in the garage.

I borrowed a paint booth across the street to spray the frame




The Ford 9" was rebuilt and the housing powdercoated. New backing plates and drums came from Currie


I sourced a 47 glove box clock delete NOS and the horn center to match. I did this to make the color scheme on the dash make more sense


Here is the chassis back in my garage waiting for me to put it all together


And here is the reason things have been a little slower in the garage. My little girl Ella
