Fageol-Twin Coach "Super Twin" articulated coach. Unlike modern buses, the Twin flexed only in the vertical, not horizontal axis.

Omaha, NE had a small fleet of these. Images are readily available on the 'net, in-service, as well as resting in the weeds after retirement.

Sales never matched expectations, and production was shut down after a year or so.

Another "re purposed" military product that found commercial use in the civilian market. These "Sanitary pads" we developed during the Civil War they were developed for wound dressings and were made from cotton waste by products and cotton gauze. Nurses quickly adopted them for "That time of the month" finding them much more convenient and sanitary then the then common rag!Makers were quick to see the market value in this new line.

That rear wheel steering would have been interesting to see on some of those S.F. streets.

I don't know if they still do but, S.F. MUNI did have articulated (vertical and horizontal) busses

I remember riding those articulated buses little kid (yes a long long time ago.) likving in Omaha. I remember thinking how cool those buses looked, and how long they seemed.

  17. I remember when the girls, in high school, wore all that stuff. Does that make me old or lucky?
