I'm Dave and I live in Illinois near St Louis. I've been lurking the HAMB for about 6 months now and joined now that I have a project to work on. I've always wanted an old car/truck to work on ... but moving every 3-4 years in the Air Force kept me from starting. Now that I am retired from the USAF and have the time/storage I was just lacking the vehicle. Yesterday, my Grandfathers '64 C20 was delivered ... so I have no more excuses. Its in really nice shape with just a bit of rust behind the front tires (first item to be fixed). Looking forward to picking your brains. The truck is totally stock (minus the '70 dog dish hubcaps and split rims in the back of the truck). Dave '64 C20 283ci - 4 Speed Manual
I have a brother in law frome the AF and he did good after retirement Got the scholling while in and the good job afterwards. I've got a 63 chebby pu that is in the stage of recovery. I put a new front sub frame that accepted a volare front suspension with the quick steering, torsion bars and sway bars with disc brakes.
Welcome, from St. Louis, MO also. Make sure to join the STL board here if you want to keep up w/ some local stuff. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=42
Thank you for your service and welcome to the HAMB. You are in the right place to get the help you need to get that truck on the road.....
