i'm making a column drop spacer to mount the top similar to an original style but its also going to be the bottom mount of the indicator/dip-main control rods. still a bit of work to do on these yet. the other is going to be the top mount for the control rods

i cut & filed & cut & filed (until my arms just about fell off) the column drop spacer almost there now just a couple of holes to drill for the control rods. it will get shotblasted and painted so it doesn't look billet like!!!!

been making the parts for the control rods to control the indicators & high/dip/flash switches. didn't want a bolt on indicator unit fastened to the side of the column so desided to put the switches behind the dash and use rods and linkages to operate them

the switches that are mounted behind the dash

this is it mounted in the car. similar to the original hand controls on the old column

fitted some ends to the indicator stalks

they are actually 8 ball tyre valve caps with the paint removed, so if i wanted i can replaced them with any style of tyre valve caps

Clean ! Is there any mechanical part to avoid too much physical stress on the switches ?

there are springs behind the column drop and the lever which causes a bit of resistance to aid the switches

Some one will come along and mistake them for throttle and spark advance levers....very cool

Very nice! Friend of mine did similar with his T-Bucket. I'll probably do same with my '29

Great workmanship ! But without stops....those switches will blow apart. Too much leverage and travel .It looks like you are using the switch to stop the travel of the lever.

Thanks for concern about the switches. They are quite a heavy duty switch if they do blow apart I will modify the bracket with some stops

One lever operates the turn signal via a double pole switch, while the other is for the high/low headlights

Ingenious! Great idea and well planned out. Looks like it could be pre-war, too.
