Sweet mid- decades. Hey, check out these oldies. I was given the Maverick funny car body by 30FordNerd, who is my nephew. He got it from my old pal Deano. It's shown in it's moulded colour. I lifted the original kit decals of it with little trouble (bar cracking) by soaking the body in a tub of water for 6 hours. They fell off, I plucked 'em out with tweezers and mopped with a cotton bud, then placed them on decal backing to use on an A40 gasser one day. Is is missing glass. It's very thin, brittle & somewhat translucent. Who made this kit? Anyone got one to show, or box art? The other pic is original molded plastic on a wreck of 'Bad Dream', the seventies Revell '56 Chevy post custom kit. 30FordNerd has one complete built-up by Deano, and gave me this companion wreck. As a kid, I was due to get this kit for christmas, but Mum caught me sneeking an early peek at it, and she returned it to the store. Cool old junk for plastic lovin' fools. Just dig that seventies hue. Remember the pink '57 Bel air Lowrider in the same series?
Stuff I'm working on. A different '32, Chevy roadster converted to a pheaton. Lots more work to do, especially on the up-top. '36 Ford humpback. Resin body was given to me some time ago, but I THINK it is an old GOOD STUFF body. I've added the trunk hinges and latches and the chrome spare on the back.
Fresh off my bench a couple of days ago, a '40 Ford Sedan Delivery that will be part of a 3 piece race set including a '34 Ford dry lakes style highboy roadster and a trailer, all done in matching paint schemes. I'm trying to get all this done in time for the NNL West in the middle of next month. It's gonna be close! The roadster so far - the body is courtesy of Altered Sates Models.
awesome builds here is an AMT stogie kit I did a while back reworked all of this kit. [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] my bloghttp://theundergroundvault.blogspot.ca/
That is an old Revell kit and it shared a chassis with a Camaro F/C. My brother had it back in the day and I still have some scattered remains of it.... Sadly, I don't think I have much you don't already have, but I'll have to check the parts boxes. Revell re-issued the Camaro a few years ago in their Selected Subjects Program. I believe it was called something like Heavy Hugger. You might be able to find one on that auction site.
Just finished this one, 1/16 Hawaiian flopper. Everything came out good but i'm not happy with the decals, they were a bit brittle from age. Did a little wiring and plumbing detail.
Got this one finished in time for our show in Atlanta last November. And it was voted into the top 10 ( out of 540 models from 30 states). I'm fairly cutting edge for an old school typeaguy, so there's something about this model that is not apparent: I "made" the body using a CAD program and had it 3d printed. Everything else is scratchbuilt. Pico
Pico, that is an awesome model and great use of the 3d printer. You could say the body was built from scratch too.
Nice work to one and all , Thanks to each and every one of you. NOW you ALL can take a bow... You made a old man happy...
Very cool stuff this week guys! I hope to have something to show next week. Pico, that is an awesome looking model you produced. It'd be great to have a 3D printer.Nice job! Myron_
Another great Sunday models once again. I was thinking should we have a theme of car for each week or not. Opinions would be great.
