Late 80's early 90's I street raced on diamond hill road in Woonsocket, RI. We would also go out to New Road in Webster, Ma. Late @ night; we called that area the "Twighlight Zone" It was a lot of fun street racing when I was a kid.

Me too. What high school did you attend? I went to Monte Vista before they made it into the Sheriff's Academy. I attended from '68-'72. Of course I could only drive from '70 on.

First in my Dad's purchasd-new '55 Chevy two door hardtop Belair. Later in my '66 Chevy van; butternut yellow with HUGE Ansen slot dish mags in the rear, whip antenna, fog lights, the whole obnoxious trip.:D

Tommyd - I lived out by Center Grove. I had a blue & white '56 Chevy, then a yellow '55, then a black '58 - all dogs! Then I finally got a '60 Pontiac with the old style 4-speed Hydramatic; it was wicked fast off the line which made it great for stoplight-to-stoplight or the eighth mile, but ran out of pull on the top end. Fun car though. Grahm Road was the local draggin' place.

We used to see Bob Glidden at Jerry's occasionally in his '63 Galaxie 427 before he became a professional racer. What did your brother drive?

Me too. Draggin' Main, over and over again. Only in a '57 Merc or a Dodge Dart, or a chopped 28 A sedan. We listened to KOMA from OKC. Cruised from the A & W on Elizabeth to the A & W on Prairie. Best time of my life.

I got my license in '68. Cruisin' really died down from when I used to ride my bike to Don's Drive In. My first car was a '55 Dodge Royal Lancer Custom

    with a HEMI

Then I got a '67 Dodge Dart GT with HP 273 4 speed.

Yes I had dreams of supercharging it.

Started at Don's Drive In on Main St to Big Boy on Woodville to McD's on Woodville and back to Don's. Occasionally we would venture to the two White Huts on sylvania Ave or out to Point Place Big Boy.
