We welded about every 3 inches, just small tacks on first pass, and then continuous tack passes with a copper spoon for backup until it was all welded up, tedious but worth the effort, no warpage at all
Mark, Great job on the roof insert !!!, Were did you get the roof insert and how much? , I will need one for my 29 dodge also. Thanks Choff
Here Choff, this link will get you there. http://www.waldenspeedshop.com/products.html They turn out some nice stuff
They must do good work. Look how perfect it justs sits on the roof. I assume that you did no "massaging" to get it that good.....
Hey Choff, thanks for the kind words. I had Bobby Walden make it for me, he had never done a Dodge before and made that one from me sending him pics of my car, I was floored by the fit, no messing around at all. He charged 450 and it was worth it, really made the install smooth. Tell him you talked to me and you need the same one, only add an inch all around, I gave him too small a measurement, made it slightly trickier to install, an extra inch would have made all the difference. Mark
I installed a Walden roof insert in an A coupe last year. Very high quality piece and worth every penny of the price. The one I did fit just about as nicely as yours did. The fact that they fit so nicely make a tedious job much less so. Your work looks great.....
