QUESTION...I am installing new molded carpet in a car. Cutting the carpet with a razor knife is easy, cutting the carpet where there is jute backing is nearly impossible. Tried a new pair of tinner snips and it cut (barely) what's the trick?

Just found out about a rope cutting attachment for a soldering gun. I tried cutting with my soldering gun with the regular tip and it works good.

I used a carpet knife blade in a utility knife (it has a hook on the end) but work slow or it will get away from you. For seatbelt holes, I heard an old soldering iron works to burn holes and melt the loop so it doesn't unravel.

After looking at some new soldering gun kits on the internet some come with a variety of tips for cutting stuff. One guy on another site said he took a regular tip and hammered it flat. Well I learned something new today. Thanks...
