The cardboard was used just to make a template for the metal box.

Are you gonna make a raised faux glovebox on the other side like a real 3W dash? JohnnyA

Nope, put a tach on the other side, not trying to make it into a 3-window dash.

It's 11" deep. I need to take a picture of it done. Not really a box, it's just a three sided tray with an open top.

It's a one-off casting according to the guy who sold it to me. He made it for a roadster he was working on but decided not to use it. It looks like a Mopar but with more drop.

Actually not all custom. The latching mechanism is from Mac's. It's in their catalog listed as '33 '34 latch kit and the hinge and pin are from them too listed as '32 3-window glove box hinge, could probably make that part if a guy wanted to. The face of the door is 16 gauge with a 9 gauge wire welded to the edge and ground smooth. The inner structure to recieve the hinge is 18 gauge bent over a buck with a 45 degree angle on the bottom side to accept the hinge. 10/24 nuts were welded inside to hold the hinge in place.....Glad you guys like it. It was just one of the many improvements to my coupe I'm making this winter. I'll try to share the next one.

But who really cares, sometimes too much knowledge is just too much. Come on by sometime.
