Hi all HAMB`ers. I have for a long time wanted to build an oldschool gasser but never had the money or place to do it (the real way). However, now im getting older..have a little bit more money, and a nice workshop to work in.
My dream is an V8 powered Anglia..or Anglia "look-a-like" for the project.
I have just found this old German Ford "Eifel" almost for free, in need of work of course, but with a pretty solid body.
First of all: What do you think of this car as gasserproject? It is about the same size and look as an Ford Anglia.

What kind of drivetrain would be a good start to build around if i decide to go this way?
What kind of chassiswork will be involved to do a project like this?
    Any links to similar builds?
Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but this will be my first real "from the scratch" build.

Thanks is advance for your help.
(dont shoot me for my lack of knowledge...i`ll learn)

Well, i have just made a deal for an Anglia! Wohoo!!
    Going to start gathering parts!
This is going to be classic gasser.
Will 33x10.5x15 tyres be good? What size wheels should i look for?

  4. I have heard these called Model C Fords in the UK.

You didn´t get the Eifel then?

No, someone else had taken it...oh and btw, it was an 7W, not an Eifel.
So Anglia it is - the deal is made :)

Eifels and Model C Juniors are too old to be a gasser. It's still quite easy to find a cheap Popular or Anglia to start with. Just check Blocket.se or SSRA forum.

I just sold my Anglia -48 body which I had storaged for 6 years but never got started.

Welcome to the club of insane racers;)
You will find alot of useful stuff here on The HAMB!
Are your plans to run it on the street or on the track?

    Thanks fenderless!
Plan is to run it on the track. Maybe a couple short rides to the local meetings though.
