  1. From the time i started building this car 13 years ago my vision was to have it hoodless. Since that time i have gone in a more custom direction with it, but i am still stuck on the hoodless idea.

i've changed alot on the car in the 5 years it's been on the road, and it is still far from finished.

Is it time for me to grow up and put the hood back on?

I love a shoebox without a hood but with your chop I am going to say it needs the hood. Nice car.

It looks clean under the hood without it but I think it would look more like a custom with the hood on it to get the entire flow of the car. Just my 2c though. I ran my shoebox without a hood for a couple of years when I had it too.

  8. Yes put a hood on it and paint the rest of the car. It looks like work in progess. Dam nice car.:)

I'd prefer it with the hood on.

I love the look of your engine, but Customs need hoods.

Yes , and fill it full of louvers, cheese grater.

  13. thank you for the positive words about the car!

i spent alot of time cleaning up the engine bay. that is one of the things that makes the choice hard.

but i agree, it will never really look finished or flow right without a hood.

  15. Definitley needs a hood. I never understood the no hood look on a full fendered car always looked to me like the builder got lazy and didn't finish.

I wouldn't say it looks awful but it would look better with a hood. I'm with all the ones suggesting louvers. They would suit the car and keep a little of the hot rod vibe.

  17. Well I don't think it looks awful without a hood but I do think it would look better with one. In my mind it is no hood hot rod, hood custom. Well that and I like the lines of that era ford with a hood.

  18. Yep, you'll look plenty tuff enough with the hood on!:D

  21. You need to look tough when you are not in the car, if you need a car to make you look tough you are not tough at all. ;)

  23. So what you are sayin' is that if it has lots of carbs and seaweed flames it will look good without a hood? :D

I think it would ba a shame to cover that engine bay up- its beautiful. But as others have said those full fender cars look better with there hoods on to keep there lines a flowin. Just my 2 cts

Not old enough to run hoodless. Nice engine though.

What if it snows? I'd run the hood.

  30. Well it certainly doesn't hurt......I like the ops car either way. Doesn't make it look better or worse in my opinion
