Has anybody gone to the Hotrod & Restoration trade show, which is held in Indy in March 2013?? I might have an opportunity to go, but wondered if it's worth a 3 hour drive. Stu
It's my understanding thats it for shops and vendors only - not the general public. Friends tell me it's very good.
Its for the trade but many attend who ar'nt as active as others. The breakfast on the opening day is not to be missed. Last year Ed Iskadarian spoke in interview format for maybe an hour & the stories were priceless. Last year it was in Lucas Oil Stadium & filled the floor with the seats pushed back. Lots of vendors with info & lots of nice cars on display.
If you are only coming for a day, you might want to look over the workshop schedules for Thur and Friday to see if you might want to attend some of them. You can look through the trade show booths in a couple of hours.
The workshops that I saw, did not interest me really. I was hoping that there might be a good number of vendors displaying their wares. Stu
Some of the work shops are excellent. Most are really an excuse to sell product. The breakfast is always great and there are a lot of interesting things to see.
Stu: I went last year and for me it was another learning experience (as you well know) but it was worth the trip just to see the new products everyone was featuring. I'm game if you want to make the drive!
Nope--SEMA purchased both the PRI and IMIS shows but this one is owned by NBM (National Business Media) after recently being sold by Bobbit Business Media. Roo
I will be there working the event again this year, as I have for the past 5 years PerTronix/Doug's/Patriot Headers. Before that I attended as a shop owner and I can say that it is a small show that gets better each year and the workshops are a very large portion of what makes this show worthwhile for many shops.
Howie & Josh from New England Speed & Custom are there with our buddy Jamie. I had to stay back in CT and hold it down for the Art of Speed closing
