    Hello,
Long time viewer, first time joiner.

Last weekend I picked up a 58 Pontiac Chieftain 2dr sedan that was an old stock class drag car back in the 60's, and became a bracket racer for a short time in the early 70's before going into the back corner of a barn, a leaky barn I might add.

She is a little rough, but the plan is to build a period correct looking drive train and have some fun with it at nostalgia drag events like the H.A.M.B. Drags, and the meltdown drags, etc.

This car was raced quite often at US131 Dragway in Martin Michigan, and may have visted Osceola Dragway in Indiana a few times.
The car competed in the first 3 Popular Hot Rodding Nationals at US131, and I think that would have been 69,70,&71.
Factory Heater delete car that sold new at Pace Pontiac in Tampa Florida.
Car was first ran as a 370 4bbl, then had tri power added, and last raced with a bored/stroked 389 tripower that had the car running in the lower 13's.
Car has a 4.30 posi rear.

Looking forward to hanging out here for parts and info from like minded car nuts.
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Thanks guys.
Trying to post pics, but need to re-size, and don't have time right now.

I'm in Three Rivers, about 45min south of US131 Dragway.

I checked out your site, and I'll definately be in touch for the 2nd annual pop rod nationals decals to replace the torn in half ones on my car.
My car has 2 real nice 3rd annual decals(originals)

There is also a USA1 performance shop decal that guys are begging me to get reproduced?

    Pics by this evening.

  30. beautiful car! I am glad to see she seems to have found the correct home. She's been on quite the journey I'll bet and now its you in the picture that has to care for her and help her get back to her days of youth! Good on you indeed, I cant wait to see the videos of her hauling ass again.
