I'm really not sure what I want pics of, lately I've been daydreaming about a narrowed one-seater modified or maybe some kind of street driven sprint car. Does anyone have any pics of OLD one-seater roadsters?
Yep, that is why I'm not sure what to ask for pics of, streamliner, modified, sprint car, old European Grand Prix cars...All one seaters and all kind of what I'm after.
Deyo, check this out... When I first started drewling about getting a ride I saw this on egay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2447335610&category=6234 Maybe not exactly what you want but cool as shit!! J-
Munson, I used to work for a collector that had a boatailed speedster. I think it would only run 50 or 60 flat out but it was a real hoot to drive. I told him I had to test drive it one day, and blew up 101 from the shop to the airport. When I got back I talked him into takein' it around the block, then I couldn't keep him out of it. Neat little cars. Oh, by the way, there was a vintage supermodified in the classifieds in the last couple of days. That's what I ment to say when I started this reply.
How about this one seater with a Ford Cobra engine and Maserati suspension? http://www.geocities.com/Baja/Desert/7445/mantaray.htm
Dr J. that is one thing I know I couldn't get away with. I don't have enough charisma or personality for a car like that. Cool car though.
I found it and put it here. This is a one seater for sure. http://photo.starblvd.net/porknbeaner?st=album&pg=1
Facebook has a group called vintage supermodifieds. Probably has 5500 pictures by now. They even have a youtube group. I joined awhile back. See ya there.
I think it was the sale of this '27 Nash Speedster that led me to find the H.A.M.B. I thought it sold for way less than it's worth (to me). People sort of "made fun of me" when I posted if anybody knew of it. It was my first newb knew not thing and I'm sure not the last.
These are 2 seaters but amazing what a sprint nose and hood does for a t. Don Varmer's is the flamed one.
