Yep Standard offset (big and littles) w black tires on hot rods. Reversed w skinny white walls on customs and low riders.
i dont know when you grew up but back in my day the cragar ss wheel was it. we run them on everything . from 49 fords to 70 impalas. still #1 wheel with me.
Supremes look better on your ride here. And yes, every thread someone choses not answer the question and completely miss the point.
I would lean to the Supremes with the skinny whitewall myself for a low truck. If you want more hot rod look, then go with the real Cragar SS sheels. The 5 spoke chrome versions, not what you posted a pic of.
Think I will get some 15x8 so they have some dish that should put them about 1 and 1/8 less lip than having rev 15x7 think the rev offset is 1 3/4 where the 15x8 offset is 3 5/8. Thinking it will look along these lines. Jake
The style of non hot rods were I grew up The broke dick guys w beat down junk rolled on used Supremes
Definately look into Cragar SS wheels with a pinner whitewall. Just some advice from another F100 owner.
I’m not saying what people should run …. Hell run what you like its not my car. It just cracks me up when I see all these cars nowadays …. nice new fresh builds - Cads - Revs - and stuff that wouldn’t have had them things on them even for a spare. Same with those Astro steel chrome slots they sold at K mart …. everybody hated um. Now people run um like there cool
I am just not in to cragar ss wheels.Like I said they remind me of 78 firebirds . Got a pic of your truck. Jake
I'll score some BEAT DOWN, chewed up, crusty Supremes and run them this spring. Just 'cause it feels like the right thing to do in this case.
Sorry but my cut off point is 1960.. 64's and their square shaped bodies never really appealed to me much
Before spokes hit the scene... Supremes were the staple of the lowrider community! Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Maybe so, but come on dude, thats the Gypsy Rose. If you arent familiar with that Impala you must have been living under a rock for the past 40 years.
Since you're going more for custom and less for lowrider, I suggest the standard offset. Reversed Supremes on a lo-lo can be a hot look, but I don't think it's what you're going for on your truck. Typically, I'd say no to an 8" wide rim on anything that's trying to be period correct, since I'm unaware of 8" wide wheels being popular on the street at that time. Few new wheels were ordered 8" or wider since tires to fit them weren't readily available, unless you were ordering rears for a race car. Your tires seem a bit small for an 8" rim as well. Although, it is a truck you're working on, so you might pull off the look with 8 inchers. Me personally, I'd go for standard offset 7" wide.
Yea I wish I could see a pic of a standard offset 15x7 with a tire on it to see what kind of dish it had not sure if the above pic is a 7 standard offset it does not look reverse. Jake
Ok back on the fence. This time 15x7 standard offset supremes or 15x7 standard offset chrome Vintiques. Thanks Jake
