Hey gang, I didn't mean to keep this a secret until the last minute, but here it is! See, about a month and a half ago the H.A.M.B.'s own Landseaandair (Matt) fell off his mini bike in a spectacular fashion, breaking his knee and collar bone in the process. He has been out of work since and the bills are piling up, So Hot Rod Rick ( Rick Dupont) has organized a little get together/party/fundraiser in his honor for tomorrow. Basic theme is if you have a mini bike, bring it! if you have a hot rod, bring it! If you can afford to drop a buck or two in the jar to help Matt out, drop it in! Rick is going to cook up some hot dogs and we are going to tear things up a bit on the minis and bench race and have a good time! All this will go down at Rick's place starting at 10:00am and wind up about 2:00pm. The adress is 1415 East Whitton st in Phoenix. That's about 5 blocks south of Indian School rd, just a shade east of 16th street. Grab my phone number off the signature line below in case you get lost. Come one, come all and let's help a local valley hot rodder and friend!
One last bump! We were trying to keep this deal a secret from the guest of honor, so I'm sorry for the late notification here.
Sorry for no captions, but, Photobucket is really pissing me off tonight. Should give you an idea of what went down though.
Dang bodi, you must have been clickin' away. Thanks to everyone for showing up and doing this for me, didn't think this was how I'd be spending my sunday. Also thanks for the tub O cash and the "crash site" reenactment. Can't wait till I can get my leg back on the peg and swing a body hammer again so the Vicky can finally get on the road. Should be good by spring when the weather is nice again.
I prefer the "spray and pray" method of photography, thanks to digital cameras it's affordable, and sometimes it even makes me look like I know what I'm doing.. Glad there was such a good turnout, and thanks to Rick for hosting. Had a great time. Can't wait to see more of that Vicky.
Damn!! Now I have to start collecting parts for a bike. Look's like a family event and a few white hairs so I would fit in.
Sorry I didn't make it Matt, I was spraying a model A frame for some Christmas money. Are you still at your Dad's house or home? Looks like there was a good turn out.
ahhhh minibikes, not since women have I met something that can bring so much joy yet cause so much pain... Good on ya'll getting together to help out a friend.
Yea still at dads for a little while longer, at least a few months till I can work a clutch and drive myself around.
