Hi guys. Starting a build on a 35 Chevy master coupe. Dad hotrodded this in the 70s, cruised it til the late 80s, then tore it down. In 2000 or so, he upgraded to '90 corvette suspension and toyed with an LS drivetrain but never finished it. He turned the papers over this year for my 37th birthday.
I'm going backwards with it, throwing the smallblock, auto and vette suspension in the dumpster in favor of a hopped up 250 inch inline, Muncie 4 speed, ladder bars and straight axle.
Ok, I may keep the vette front end in there.....it does look kinda cool even if it's a little bit new age for my taste.
Hope to learn a thing or 20 along the way with help from you all.

Welcome to the HAMB. That is one bad looking coupe. If you are gonna run the fenders which I hope. The vette front and rear suspension will make that car handle like a dream. I like the decision you are going for in the build, but with out the vette drive train, the straight axle, and solid rear axle is the way I would go also. good luck on your gift and cherish it. I would.

Welcome to the HAMB. Enjoy your gift /project .All I have left of my Dad's Hotrod project is the wheels he took off the car before he rodded it.

Welcome from the west coast of Florida.

I see you live in the racing capital of the USA better known as Morresville, N.C.

I have been though the Lakeside industrial park a few times checking out all the shops.

Really cool place to be living.

Sure wish I had a dad like yours back in the day.

Great project and post some photo's as it goes on so we can all follow along.

Thanks guys. The best part is that dad is still around- this will be a great father/son project. Yes Im in Mooresville, Jimbo, lakeside is actually the park I work in, and if you happened to venture a mile or so east to talbert park, thats where my/dads hotrod shop is.
This is not my first project but it is definitely more of a custom build than a parts swapping operation that Im used to. Off to the info boards I go....
