Ok so ive been out of the car seen about 2 years. Im wanting a new project. I found a 1950 Ford 2 door sedan. Very solid car only has one banged up door and guy has a good spare he is gonna throw in. Car is complete and has solid floors. It has a v8 flathead in it but the motor is stuck. It also has a 3 speed tranny. I can buy it for $500.00... My question is has the market fell that much on old cars or is this just a real good deal????Cuz 2 years ago this was a $1200-$1500.00 car. Thanks
Around here, $1500 would be the dropped-market, hard to believe they're going that cheap price, if it's solid. $500 you'd be crazy not to buy it. That car would part out for several grand (not that you'd want to, but it would).
I bought my running driving chopped 51 for a grand.....sold my chopped merc for 4500, guess it depends on if you are buying or selling right now, seems as though I can buy about anything I want for very very little cash these days, and I mean very little......Jim
There is also a nice 49 coupe here in MO. that is a daily driven car, running the flattie is almost rust free, just a very very small spot on the drivers side rocker, has duals with glass packs, has been nosed, decked and lowered 2" in the rear, 3 grand asking, I would bet if ya waved 2000 cash in front of him it would buy the car, 2500 for sure would do the trick. The car has been for sale for about 8 months. Jim
