Actually, being from Conroe, it's easy to see how it could be. Conroe's not far from Houston and we have bad humidity. Combine that with hot days and it breeds rust. Great build! Your story reminded me of my build. No sleep. Getting off work and then working on the car till 1 in the morning. Good memories!
Thanks for reading guys. It was such a good time I honestly can't wait for the next one. Since I moved to Michigan to go back to school I'm gonna wait a while to do another one. Hopefully I can get a hold of a 40s era truck of some sort or even an old coupe to go with the sedan. I'm sure Michigan has plenty of good old stuff laying out in fields somewhere!!

No sir! I moved up to Michigan to continue pursuing my airframe and powerplant mechanics license goal in aviation by attending western michigan university's program and now the car will be up here with me so I can drive it around!
Ben D. and Marcy are the best... thanks ya'll! After I did a celebratory drive through the beautiful michigan back roads I slapped on my new hubcaps and an old milwaukee beer tap handle for a new hood ornament. Who doesn't like beer?
Ok guys..I need to do something to that bare wood look on the inside of the car for the roof so its not as boring. Any suggestions??
You could stain it like the outside, paint it black to match the interior, glue or tack some smooth, press-pleat, or metal flake vinyl to the inside wood.."Joanne Fabric" has a nice selection and cheap if you get it on sale.... P.S. you could also put it on the outside if you get tired of the stain..
