Helllo my name is Tony I'm from Brisbane. I have been interested in hot rods since my early teens (I'm now in my 40's). In my teens, I lived across the road from a shopping complex and they had a car show in the carpark every 6-12 months which started my interest. I started out with Morris Minors (I was young and they were cheap!). I then had a '61 Falcon I bought at the hot rod nationals on the Gold Coast. Then moved on to a '65 GT Mustang Fastback. For the past 2 years I have been buying parts to build my first true hot rod. A 1935 pickup. I've got everything from chassis, to all suspension (split wishbones and lever shocks), Winters V8 quick change rear end, a '56 265 chev with triple rochesters and a th350 and all interior parts. It will be built by Toowoomba Rod & Custom. It will be starting in the next few months. Attached is a rendering I have had done and the cab I am starting with.
Welcome from another Aussie here. Why are you not building it yourself ? Sure sounds like you have it well planned out.
Hey welcome from Brisbane, looks like you have some cool plans for your pickup, and Warren builds great cars...all the best Rod..... Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Unfortunately I lack the skills and often the time to build. I enjoy the researching and searching for just the right parts. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
g'day bloke and welcome to the HAMB. Even though you don't have the skills it's still nice to see you bring some old tin back to life. I like your rendering and hope it ends up like that......
It has been a while but things are finally underway. Chassis is done. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Hey tony, it's a bit late for a welcome after 8 months, but your rendering looks awesome and I hope you can keep posting us some pics as it progresses. Might I suggest you start a build thread over on the Message Board - hiding everything here on the Intros page isn't spreading the message. Good luck with the build. Cheers.
