New guy looking for some advise. I had a 62 Mercury Monterey (first project) had to sell it while we built a house. Now looking for a new project. Came across a 48 Chevy Stylemaster and not sure of the value of these cars. It has one repaint probably in the 80s, all original inline 6 with tranny, interior is original and shot, body has no rust through, floors are solid, and a easy fix dent in rear quarter. Before I said 2 words he came down from $3000 to $1500. What is it worth? Thanks
a car that runs? and drives ? 1500.00 if -n- U don't want it please by your description alone i'd take it (period) 48 n i c e
Guy says it ran and drove when he parked it 4 yrs ago. Motor does still turn free. I was halfway home when I realized my dumba** didn't take any pics. Thanks for the info so far. I will surely post pics if I pull the trigger on it.
Welcome from southeast Iowa! Those '47 and '48 Chevys can look really good. Are you going to rod it or keep it original? That black one that Boyd Coddington built looks killer. Tom
Having trouble deciding on what I'll do. I'm thinking either rod it or clean it up for a quick flip to put towards another project.
at 1500 you'll give it some sweat equity and Dbl your efforts/expense. why and how i know... because if you can do the work and have a few bucks for parts... i'd still give ya 3k . if it was my car and i had you help me i'd Pay you 1000.00 or more... see it s a WIN WIN for you... 1) do not do any thing - make 1k 2) do do things - make it drive and stop-- sell for 3k/6k 3) keep it have fun - buy more cars - have more fun ...lol keep us posted on the progress
Welcome from the bright sunny south of FLA, buy that car, they look oh so sweet on the ground, and at 15hundo, deal!!
