What wheels would you put on my Ford?

Your 41 looks terrific with those 5 spoke TT's.
I think that's the new look I'm after.

 

If it were my car I'd run medium-width WWs on steelies with caps & rings -- but I do that on everything. Your car has a lot of bodywork and a very low stance, and maybe could use a little more bling: Torque Thrusts or chromies, now with blackwalls.

edit: Lincoln wheel covers like my avatar would work well on that car too.

Also skip the wide whites anf paint the rims body color.

 

ALso skip the whitewall thing and use black tires.

I'd be happy with a set of Cragar SS wheels and some bigs and littles, tires that is, black sidewalls...hotrod tires.

 

Just be careful not to mix themes. If the car has a modern interior (tweed etc.) then the stock look wheels / trim ring look would clash. With that car I think it would look good with a polished 5 spoke (American, ET, Radir) or Halibrand Sprint (if you can get them). If you've got deep pockets, check out Real Rodders wheels, they've got some real nice stuff. If the interior is "traditional" then that opens it up for more choices.

 

Very good point (except for the Radir wheels -- yuck).

 

I like chrome smoothies with baby moons or spiders on cars of that era.

 

Another vote for steelies, rings and caps.

 

Reverse steel wheels with dog dish caps....trim rings or a painted stripe optional.

It does run a theme.
Leather w/ tweed seat inserts, split grip billet steering wheel, very smoothed off body.
I'm kinda thinking blackwalls on matching red steel rims, '47 caps with no trim rings.
On the other hand I saw some nice machined aluminum 5 spokes made by RIDLER.
They have a glossy dk. gray center kind of D spoke shaped.
Not very traditional looking but neither is this barge very traditional to begin with.

Stashed away in my loft I've got a set of '53 Cadillac (one year only) semi sombrero's, 2 sets of burgundy painted 15"steelies, some big 'n' little wide white radials on copper- orange rims, some bullet lugs and centers, some '46 Ford caps and some '57 Ford poverty caps.
Don't own any 5 spokes but am saving for a set of Ridler machined finish with charcoal centers D spokes( similar to Coy's Wheels), to run on either the '47 coupe or maybe to try on my '32 hiboy.

I got some options from my collected junk but still scratching for new ideas.

What I'm getting to is I want to reduce the BLING factor.
Those Budnik hoops are way to 90's and flashy for my taste.
I want to step it down a notch or two.

 

The unfinished 15" TQ thrust with the biggest practical rear tire, but not too small on the front. Blackwalls too.

 

I'm with you, no white walls or caps, Real Rodder (Halibrand style )or American TTO polished... ET III's are good choice....

 

ok street rod, red steels and caps would not look right... oh you said billet... Yikes.. loose the steering wheel and interior.... or maybe do away with the tweed inserts ..
