radiator help

I know alot of you guys out there have 50's chevys, what did you use for a radiator other than stock? I don't have one for my 51, am going to run a mild 327. The price of the alum. radiators are way out of the budget. Any info would really help. Thanks.

 

Take overall measurements on your old one and go to a radiator shop.
They have a library on radiators their capacities and over all dimensions.
I ran a 350 in my 50 Pickup with a toyota radiator. Heck of alot cheaper than any aftermarket one.

 

try summit of you are going new, I know that they have some good prices on rads

I had to modify the brackets a little, but the size was just right. I am using a long water pump, so it is mounted in front of the radiator support.

 

Thanks, gives me some ideas on where to start.

 

U.S. Radiator in Calif. makes a good quality radiator for almost any car; reasonable prices.
