Ford Guys?

I just read a thread where someone said " I'm not really a Ford Guy........." It got me to thinking, what is a Ford Guy? Is he someone who bleeds Ford blue only. Can he own another brand and still be a Ford guy? If a guy has a Ford with a Chevy engine, is he still a Ford guy? Opinions, comments, anyone?

I was big time into Fords for a long time, got hooked on Chevys after I saw how easy it was to swap drivetrain parts between then. I'm looking for a car now, I'd take either one if the right car popped up.

i consider myself a "Ford Guy", but i've owned all kinds of cars, over 200 of them over the years. about 60% have been FoMoCo but GM has been in the stable several times along with many Mother MoPar and several imports including Mercedes, Fiat, MG, Triumph and a Jag, a small platoon of VW's and a couple of goddamn Audi shitboxes.
i don't even think in terms of modern cars even belonging to a brand anymore; each and every one of them is a crib off another one that went before it. they all look like dogshit and are loaded to the gunwales with needlessly complicated bullshit.

 

Well I would consider myself a "bleed ford blue" type guy, but I do own a chevy it was my wife's high school car and I can't get rid of it. When my wife went to buy a new car I gave her the dollar amount we could afford and told her not to bring it home unless it has a blue oval on it................. lol

 

Sounds dumb, but you know what you are. Im a chevy guy. My only car now is a Model A with the Ford Banger & I love Early Iron Fords & Shelby's, but if Im gonna race & bet the farm, I gonna run a SBC. If I had a regular 64 Mustang, I'd put a BBC in it.

First truck was an s10, then I had a mustang, now a challenger. I like mopar muscle and ford and gm classics. As long as its American!

im a chevy and pontiac guy but i own a ford and not to proud of it but its gets my ass from point A to point B till i finish my 53 chevy is done but i dont have a problem with any brand its the import shit i cant stand!!!!

 

I knew a bunch of Ford guys back in the post High School musclecar days. all thier cars were slow, except the one they were building that was going to be fast, but they never seemed to get those fast ones on the road.... one guy had a 69 MachI that was going to be fast, when he got that one on the road, he put big chunks of his motor on the road soon after.

I am more a fan of Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Cadillac...

Having said that, I drive a GMC & have one '63 Cadillac.

...and 3 Imperials, a '49, '56, '60, '61 Ford. And I must admit, the continuity among the way all the Fomoco stuff is assembled is making me a "Ford Guy" every day. And, BTW, I am a firm believer in anything but a Chevy in a Ford.

As for me and my Ford, they will not be Chevy powered. Cad is OK though...

I own a bunch of Fords - some chevy powered. I also own a mopar too. Had whole bunches of hyped up double fast VWs hanging around for years, so I know the meaning of futillity. I don't really have a brand loyalty, but I do know that any time I have to twist a wrench on my O/T V8 Maverick is a day that I hate. Have to remove the A/C to change a thermostat? REALLY?! REALLY!!! Then there is the guys that bring an early Ford and a Ford small block and say "make them one" Why in hell did they feel the need to put everything on the wrong end of the engine? GGGGGGHHHHHHHRRRRR!!!

My 1st car was a tri-power GTO so kinda grew up on GM but have owned a few Fords. Earlier this year I had 3 Chevies and 3 Fords but thinned the herd down to 3 Chevs & 1 Ford. On the lookout now for a 62-67 Nova wagon to replace one of the 3 Chevs but if a nice Falcon came along I'd go look at it.

just never made any sense to me, Its a nice car, its a nice car thats it. who cares what your preference is...
