Then I went through the car wash at the gas station. I got the deluxe! Plus I got SOAKED. Shit, the thing had no brushes, so it used like 600 water jets at 500 psi. It came in EVERYWHERE! I couldn't stop laughing trying to block all the water as it came in the windows.

You know, I just got a chance to start catching up on the daily videos on the rodfather.com website and I had to link to this one

    http://rodfathertour.com/daily-video-day-5-presented-by-grundy-worldwide/

If nothing else, please watch it for the second guy. He blew his motor just getting to the starting day. Everyone pitched in what they could and he was able to get a new motor, get it installed and catch up. It will make you cry.

    HOT RODDERS FUCKING RULE!

You should work your way back to the Gulf Coast and do Cruising the Coast......5 to 6,000 cars cruising all week long in different directions in a 20 mile stretch........If you decide to come let me know and I'll take you to lunch.

Kirk, Chad is talking to Don Specht, a life time member of the Bay Area Roadsters who's blown full fender T has over 300,000 miles on it and still going strong, he's been cross country a least a dozen times, we traveled with him in the early 80's to Memphis for the NSRA Nats..(high speed of course)

KIRK! Thanks for all of the great updates. I sure wish I was able to make it on that trip. It is truly once in a lifetime. This is the road-trip everyone will be comparing future ones to. See you down the road.

    DAY EIGHT.....

Today was the last "to" day on the tour as we ended up in Indy and had three stops. Well, the tour made three stops - I made one.

Last night I had posted a thread asking if anyone in Indy had a shop and tools to cut my front springs. Ebert stepped up and offered the services of the Dreyer & Reinbold Inday racing team. They were the first stop of the day anyway, so it was a perfect fit. Plus, what would be cooler than getting the 'Bird lowered during a road trip in and Indy car shop in Indianapolis?

I said I'd get there early and I was the second car to arrive. Eric met me and had me pull in to one of the bays. Two of the mechanics, Bill Martin and Tom Jacobs, immediately jumped in and the three of us started the project. It was funny, every time one of the cruise members would come into that part of the shop they would ask what was wrong now. I'd say that I had a "front end altitude issue". After their weird look I'd tell them we were cutting the springs. Most thought it was about time.

These two guys were AWESOME, getting super dirty at the hands of the evil 'Bird and wrestling with springs, A-arms and a torch until we were done several hours later. I should mention that today was their day off and they were just coming in to check out all of the cars that were stopping by. They gave that up to help me. How fucking cool is that?!?!?!

When we were done the tour had been gone for a while. Thankfully I had asked a friend to shoot the next two stops for me and it got handled.

We lowered the car to the ground to see the results, but it still seemed high because we hadn't rolled it out yet so the suspension could settle. Before we could do that I locked my keys in the trunk. What a dipshit! We called a locksmith who got in the trunk in about 5 seconds and then asked for his $85! I'm in the wrong business. The bastard Ebert paid him. I'm still pissed and grateful. Thanks buddy!

We finally got it outside and it was a little lower. Not radical, but definitel 1-1.5" lower than the nosebleeder it was.

Needless to say these three guys made my day!

I forgot to shoot "after" pics. I'll post some ASAP. I'll also be taking a break from posting for the next couple days until we're back on the road on Sunday for the return trip through the south - Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico etc.

    Pics...
